Taxe de Séjour Côte d’Azur, Tourist Tax Explained for Second Homes and Holiday Rentals

If you own a second home in the Côte d’Azur and rent it out as a holiday rental, you are required to declare and pay tourist tax, known in France as taxe de séjour.

For many non-resident owners, tourist tax in France can be confusing. Declarations are done via a French government platform, and the rules may vary depending on the type of rental and how the property is offered.

In the short video below, we explain how the taxe de séjour works in practice, who is responsible for declaring it, and how to use the official system correctly. This is particularly relevant for owners who live outside France and only rent out their property during high season.

The official government platform discussed in the video can be found here: https://taxesejour.impots.gouv.fr/
